Textures on Terrain
Hey guys, newbie here, and I was just wondering, instead of making your texture cover the whole terrain, is there anyway to paint it on there? Also, could you point me to a good terrain making tutorial?
You can paint textures to only parts of the terrain, but there has to be a base texture.
And here is a good start.

When you first apply a texture to a terrain it paints the entire terrain (it's best to use one that will take up the majority of the terrain). After that you can pick and paint the textures for individual areas.
Here's the URL for the Terrain Tutorial. I'd also recommend getting the Terrain Toolkit.
Hope that helps.
