Collectible Items & Inheritance

Hello,

I want to do a game where it's based on mining, gathering and collecting items then crafting them into your needs. Strangely i couldn't find how to do that on any tutorial or source.

For example, my scene will have rocks, which will differ in category and gives you different minerals when collecting. Some will have more, and it will be bigger based on the quantity. Think it like Don't Starve game.

Plus it's also important for me to update it and add new stuff as it comes to my mind.

Where can i learn how to do that? Should i use inheritances in classes?

Such as BlackRock extends Rock {

So that i would create the base of Rocks and add the childrens and stuff.

Tutorials don't cover these methods, can you help me?

Thanks, Met.

This is going to cause debate because there isn't a specific right answer. Post it on the forum and I'm sure you'll get people willing to debate it. I'm going to close it here for that reason only.
