FPS aim marker Question
I have a FPS style game and the camera is posited at a slight angle to the gun (see attached image, note the red line from the gun barrel). I do not know how to position the gun aim marker as the camera is at an angle the aim marker would change depending on the distance to the target. however if i have the camera looking directly down the gun then it is a simple calculation.
I want to have the camera at an angle to the gun as it looks better but i also want to have a gun aim marker. How can i create a aim marker ? do i need to have the bullets exit the gun at straight angle to camera but this would feel incorrect to the user (i.e. not natural). do i need to move the aim marker to the distance to the target? that might be confusing to the user. what do FPS games do for this problem?
