CrossFade won't crossfade animation, it just jumps to it.
Hey,
I've got an animation for a camera I created in the animation editor. Just a camera path for a fly-thru of a cave. Upon playing it with CrossFade, the camera just jumps to frame one of the animation. Shouldn't the camera make a nice, smooth transform over to the beginning of the animation? Right now the camera just snaps to frame one of the animation and then plays. I don't know why it does this...
CrossFade normally takes 3 tenths of a second to fade in. Is it really snapping, or just moving way over to the cave so quickly that it appears to snap? You can increase fade-in time with CrossFade("abc",0.8);
.
I tried increasing the fade time to 3 seconds once, didn't seem to work. Any other possible causes? Like, maybe the camera needs to already be in an animation for the crossfade to work?
For bone-based animations, CrossFade from no animation works perfectly.
But, easy enough for you to test -- make a dummy 3-keyframe "tiny wiggle" animation, Played in start. For real, should be "do nothing" but a tiny wiggle allows you to verify it's playing.
CrossFade goes from one animation to another. $$anonymous$$aybe if you go from no animation to first animation it does not smooth?
