Is this the reason my game runs slow?
I made a couple objects in Sketchup that I imported into Unity. I made them about 18m x 18m in area. When I imported them to Unity, they were massive compared to the first person character, so I scaled it down to something like 0.1 so it'd be reasonable. At first, all I had was a barn sort of thing and the game ran smoothly, but when I added a couple more stuff (gun and building) my game goes really slow, like 2 fps. I saw somewhere that scaling down models can mess up the performance in-game, so is that the problem? Should I model the models appropriately so that when I import it to Unity I don't have to scale it down two times?
"Should I model the models appropriately " i am new with unity3D but yes this is very recommended, try it maybe it will solve your problem

It all really depends on your GPU (Graphical processing unit, if you don't know), Ex. Mine is an intel HD graphics 3000 and it runs unity like a charm (60 fps with it's built in 256mb of VRam). it also depends on how you made the model and how many polygons there are to that model.
So, to be exact, i'd recommend you remodel your models in a better piece of software such as blender (there are TONS of tutorials on the internet) or export your model to blender and try to clean up polygons
Or, if you have a really old clunky computer with REALLY slow graphics or an ultrabook, tablet, etc. that you're trying this on, Just a general tip: you should try to get a better computer ASAP (a full on computer (Desktops and laptops, not tablets).
