Use Glow Effect in Unity Free
Hey Guys! I'm new to unity and using unity 4.x ( free version ). I'm trying to create a sci-fi based game and for that I need a glow effect. But I've seen that glow effect comes with unity Pro only. I've used the Self-Illuminated shader which gives a glowing effect but I want it fade out on the exterior. It looks quite a plain glowing surface.
There is this package called Glow 11 available on the Unity Asset Store, but it also requires unity pro. But I want an effect something like it with a fading effect as shown in its demo images. Any help is much appreciated.

You really want Pro for what you're trying to do, but you may be able to work around it with some glowy particles placed near the surface and/or light flares.
