Adding Colors on Textures
I'm trying to build a main menu, and want the buttons on it, which are currently planes, to, when hovered over, rather than totally change to a different color, grey out -- in other words, add a shade of grey to the original color. Can anyone give me an idea of how to do this in C#?

The easiest way is to use a shader that supports a color and set the $$anonymous$$aterial.color property:
renderer.material.color = Color.gray;
$$anonymous$$ost shaders that support color, overlay the color on the texture. Lots of posts on changing the color of objects.
