I am following the tutorial "Hexagonal Grid", but immedietly hitting problems. Unity 4 Monodevelop doesn't seem to link Linq. How do I fix this?
This is the URL for the tutorial. I've already had to adjust a few things, and it's based on C# 3.0.
My biggest problem is at the moment, it doesn't seem to like System.Linq and can't access "Node".
Unity doesn't get along very well with Linq. $$anonymous$$uch of the functionality is dynamic at runtime so it won't compile for iOS and it's even less likely to work when targeting the Unity Flash player.
If those things aren't deal breakers, it's at least something to keep in $$anonymous$$d. Linq is going to hurt portability which is why the Unity toolchain doesn't really support it very well.
Can anyone recommend an alternative A * grid tutorial designed specifically for Unity?
