Flashlight effect
How to make flashlight effect? I don't want spotlight cookie, i am talking about emitin light form flashlight, something like this:
I've made a cone in Blender, but it looks ugly, i've made gradient texture (from white to transparent) but it doesn't look like it should, i would like it to slowly fade into transparent. Of course texture and material are set to be transparent. Any ideas how to achieve that? Here is how it looks in my game...
I'm not sure if its just my computer but i don't see any examples. Did you post code or a photo?? Its not showing up for me.
Yes, first image is effect i would like to achieve: http://i.imgur.com/sQvpUwJ.jpg
Second one is how it looks in my game: http://i.imgur.com/P8gRlB$$anonymous$$.png
I've used quad/plane with texture and it looks much better now: http://i.imgur.com/TXG6D7n.png The only problem is that this light is flat, it's not problem when character is shown from top or with FPP camera, but it may not look good when character is show from side. It's not neccesary, but it would be good to fix that somehow :)

@miszelfox Check out Volumetric Lighting. I think that is what you are looking for.
