Question by dolfuz · Mar 20, 2012 at 09:39 AM · playerhierarchyslow64-bit

Slow play when hierarchy tab is open in the themo "angry bots"

Hello, I'm new in Unity. Right now I'm using the 3.5 version, just tried the demo "Angry bots" and when I press the Play botton, if the Hierarchy tab is open the entire Unity is so slow that you can't do anithing, but if the Hierarchy tab is closed all runs in excelent speed.

Any advice, help or idea about what can be causing this issue? My PC is a Win 7 64bit, 8Gb Ram, AMD A8-3850 4Core 2.9GHz and Graphic card ASUS HD 6670 1Gb DDR3.

Thanks so much for your time.

your hardware is not a problem at all. very high specs..

the only thing must be the programs running.

im using windowsXP, 3GB ram, 256 intelGraphics, intel CoreDuo.

it works fine. except when i do something like increasing the respawn object to 1k or so.. it becomes lag as f**k..

haha..

well.. my guess is the programs running in your services.

or you could CTRL+ALT+DELETE > PROCESSES> UNITY

right-click on UNITY > Set Priority > make it above normal.

what this does is. your CPU will be focused on the program according to priority.

if this helps.. say thank you..

^_^

add me on FB if u want. i want to make friends.

Hello infinate_guy! thanks for your tips. I tryed the set priority and nothing changed. Tryed getting down one by one my services and some of them couldnt be down and the others didnt fixed the problem.

The slow moments are then I press the shot mouse button, thats when the game gets slow.

it might be that u are playing it in UNITY..

try build and run the game after u compiled the scripts, etc3...

it could have been the usage of the RAM when playing in UNITY.

this could happens when u have a lot of things in your hierarchy..

is a hunch though. build and run the game see how it goes.

thanks for your answer zerox911.

I did that yesterday, if I make a built, the game runs cool, the slow problem only happends when the Hierarchy tab is open while I play the game in the editor.

well that's the problem there.. after compiling all... build and run it..

the editor is similar to remote Unity for IOS..

its just a testing phase..

but when u build and run it ...

its all fine..

the end...

The frustraiting part is that my brother has a PC with less power than $$anonymous$$e, but in his PC the editor runs like the builded version :( What's wrong with my PC?
