Mecan and root rotation in X, Z axis (pitch and roll)
I was trying to play a generic animation (non-human one) and the root node has rotation in X and Z axis. When I play it using Mecanim, the rotation is lost. I suppose that, as it is mainly for human bodies, it only manages root rotation in Y axis (yaw).
Is any way I can get my animation working?
Thanks in advance. Nacho.
did you get this working? This still seems to be a problem, Unity is ignoring Root Rotation on the X and Z axis.
No, finally I gave up of doing that :-(. Sorry.
Every time I try to get an answer SaraCecilia close my question, so I suppose that the developers are not aware of that.

Have you attempted to play with Baking settings in Animation Import?
Does your model turn physically in the Modelling software (requirement for root motion). If not refer to this page.
Yes, I did. All possible combinations.
The model is working perfectly in modelling software ($$anonymous$$aya). Indeed it works in preview windows in Unity Editor when you select the animation.
Not sure on your exact situation but is there a possibility its not rotating because its pushing in the floor?
No, because it is a plane flying. It seems that $$anonymous$$ecanim system only support rotation in Y axis (yaw) for root motion and the other axis rotation (pitch and roll) are removed. The animation I tried had yaw and roll rotation (imagine a plane turning right: it has to have roll rotation).
Dropbox it.
Oh yes, did you look at the link in the answer?
