How to make a multiplayer game using room codes

Hi. I would like to make a kind of voting style app for mobile. I don't however want to just have a long list of rooms to scroll through, or have a random person find your game. I want rooms to be private, and friends only. Is there an easy way to implement codes you would type in to join a room? Thanks, Wolfbane54
