Light flashing through walls help

I have a spotlight that acts as a flashlight attached to my character. There is also another room with a spotlight pointed at the ground that I attached a script to that makes it have a flicker affect. For some reason whenever I turn on the flashlight and look in the direction of that room, even though I'm not in there, I can see the strobe effect happening. But when I turn away from that room, the strobe effect goes away.
