Question by buxton4life · Nov 11, 2012 at 12:02 PM · 2dcolliderboxtunnel

I need an Einstein! Destroying part of a cube/mesh

Imagine a cube that is 10*10*10 (x, y, z) in scale and the camera is orthographic pointing directly at it so you see x,y ( a box). How can a person use for example a mouse to draw/ destroy/ clip/ dig / a tunnel through the cube for example a straight line from top to bottom or even a snake shape through it that an object (a ball) would simply pass through the tunnel where the line/tunnel had been drawn. So the parts of the cube that have not been dug through would keep there colliders.

Any takers for this challenge! Thanks in advance!

To make it easy, I think the best option should be to have little cubes with colliders which combined together will make your big cube. Then when the user wants to destroy a part of the cube, he really destroys the little cubes he selects

I thought that would be the answer to be fair, is there a method for keeping the draw cell count down though as using 100's maybe thousands of cubes may be a little performance drainer? Thanks @$$anonymous$$iraSensei for the swift reply!
