First Person RPG Logic...

Now, as i am starting new, I want to start from the basics. I want a working prototype of grid-based movement in a way that is similar to Eye Of The Beholder and similar legendary games. I had an idea, of using transform.translate with a camera to move the camera itself, and have multiple planes with the textures on them, so when you move forward, the camera moves 2 units forward to the next plane, which gives the illusion that you moved forward. But, however, this is unstable and got out of hand in later time. Now I am looking for the most effective way to achieve this, and how. And please do not refer me to the GridMove script in the unify (not unity, unify) community wiki, as I am not looking for a 3D mechanic, merely 2D, (as i said above) similar to games such as Eye of the Beholder and such.

Please consider the fact that all my work is in c#.

Thanks in advance!

It would help if ouy would post your script (or just a code snippet) which causes the problem.

Also do you mean "GUI 2D" or "It's really 3D but you're ignoring one Axis"? If it's the latter couldn't you use the Grid$$anonymous$$ove script but, you know, ignore one Axis?

This is not the place to ask for scripts.

Unity Answers is for asking Specific questions to code you have written.

Don't make me tell you again.

Still you're asking for a task that can not be answered here.

You're maybe not looking for someone who writes a script for you but it sounds like you're looking for a $$anonymous$$cher. or something similar. This would also be better on the forums then on UA.
