Question by rsaamar · Nov 23, 2017 at 06:40 AM · shadertexturetransformmaterialcolor

Materials are colored differently on rotated objects

alt text

I have applied the same material to both, but as you can see the color is different. This seems to be true for anything that I rotate. I want them both to be the same color.

Why does this happen and how do I fix it?

NOTE: This seems to occur for many different materials, not just this one. There are lots of materials which don't have this problem, but there are a lot of materials that do.

$$anonymous$$aybe a light source is changing them?

I checked that. It’s not because of a light source.

for understanding what causes this, can you adjust some settings as i am gonna say and post its visuals. first : change your mesh renderer settings as follows : alt text

and check if problem solved, if its not do change your material shaders like this. alt text

and check if they look different still. and notify us again

NorthStar79, setting the shader to unlit/texture works! But now the texture looks kind of stale.

The problem seemed to be that my skybox was my source of light. I fixed this by going to

Window->Lighting and changing light source to color, and setting the color to white.

Do you still have the standard directional light on in your scene?

Had a feeling it was something to do with light
