Js Making windows/groups buttons react to other groups?

How'd I go about having a window rect, that I can drag around, with buttons in it, and on clicking those buttons makes another window group? I'm spend hours trying to fix this by looking on other peoples work, but I keep coming back to the same problem, I CAN NOT make a group from a button in a gui rect, OUTSIDE itself. If I try, it will make the new window on itself?!
