Question by kakyounity · Sep 18, 2012 at 01:23 AM · c#demo

Demo Project: Looking for free demo project that uses C#

I'm looking for a demo project on the Asset market that uses pure C# for scripting. So far the big ones seem to use mainly JavaScript.

Does anyone have good recommendations?

Thanks a bunch!

EDIT: I prefer FPS or 3rd-person RPG demos that use purely C#.

What you want is 3D Buzz :

Free : http://www.3dbuzz.com/vbforum/content.php?212

They did a paid $$anonymous$$$$anonymous$$O course.

Thanks, that looks promising. I'll give it a try.

Well, as you may have implied those links are all nice tutorials and courses. The first link contains videos and the only assets pack doesn't have scripts at all. I understand that following the tutorials I may achieve something. But I'm in a tight schedule that I really just need a fully working demo. Anyways, thank you for the pointers. They gave me hope to continue searching!

The first link is really a beginner course, but free assets are always nice =]

The second link is the only thing that would be close to what you require, but would involve maybe a week including finding suitable assets and models in the asset store. Rigged models may be very hard to come by, well suitable ones anyway. Then there's the animations ....

But in my own personal opinion the second link is the best there (free videos only), after the course you have quite a robust 3rd person controller that is ready to be expanded on. But I don't know your needs, so I wish you the best in your search and hope the links were sort of helpful. $$anonymous$$y only other suggestion would be to check all the scripts on the UnifyCommunity wiki page, from memory most of the examples there are C# or multiple format (inc C#) : http://wiki.unity3d.com/index.php/Scripts

Thank you. Those $$anonymous$$igames are nice to have. But I'm really looking for a larger demo (FPS, RPG) such as Bootcamp type that solely uses C#.

Unfortunately, I don't know of many myself. I usually use the Javascript demo's a examples and then port to C#. Porting between the two languages is fairly straight forward and everything you learn in Javascript you can pretty much just copy and paste over into C# with $$anonymous$$or changes.

Ok, thank you. I just marked it as the answer. EDIT: On second thought, well, although you gave nice ones. I need more input. If there are none by this weekend I'll accept yours as the answer. Thanks again.

cheers! I hope more people are able to post resources here for C# as I feel it's the stronger and more industry standard language.
