Problems with webplayer in chrome on OSX

Question

I am experiencing some issues with the unity webplayer plugin and Chrome on OSX.

OSX: Up to date OSX Lion Chrome: 18.0.1025.163 Webplayer: V3.5.1f2 machine: Model Name: iMac Model Identifier: iMac10,1 Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed: 3.06 GHz Video:ATI Radeon HD 4670

When I run my webplayer in chrome the page stalls and won't receive input while the .unity3D file is downloading and also while my webplayer is downloading any files via WWW.

I've tried the demos on the unity website and they behave similarly.

I also have the chrome page has become unresponsive message at times.

Has anyone experienced this, and does anyone know how to get around it?
