How Do I Could I Make Ragdoll Out OF This Model!?

I've have been trying for 3 days now to try and make a ragdoll out of this Model:alt text Its peeing me off. I've tried Lots of things like making the model on Unity but it just spazzes out so I made it on Blender and Im having problems. After I rig the model what do I do because I don't know What weight painting is and all I do is just select the model then the skeleton and hit ctrl+P and hit Armature Deform with Automatic weights. But when I pose the skeleton some of the bones pose properly but mostly the other bones make the cubes look retarded or just move other parts instead. Someone please guide me through this step by step and I've been watching so many tutorials like "How to Make a Ragdoll Of A Robot" but it doesn't help because im not using that model. SO PLEASE HELP ME. thanks

If you don't know about boning and weights, then making a skeleton in Blender is just going to make it more complicated.

A ragdoll can be built up by hand. Just make a big rigidbody cube "body" and another cube arm or leg. Put the leg near the body, not overlapping, and don't child it. Then add a `characterJoint` component to the leg, connected to the body. Since those are all simple steps, you can look up each part.

If you drop that (drop it on a steep hill or ramp,) they should jangle around together. Then add the rest the same way.
