combining children error

Hello,

When i use the combine children script on the gameobject, i get these errors:

Not allowed to access uv on mesh 'Combined Mesh (root: scene) 15

Not allowed to access tangents on mesh 'Combined Mesh (root: scene) 15'

Not allowed to access colors on mesh 'Combined Mesh (root: scene) 15'

Not allowed to access vertices on mesh 'Combined Mesh (root: scene) 17

any ideas how i go about fixing these errors?

it sounds like the mesh is being used by temporary file, being written to, something like. I always use a script available on the forum called combine children extended, which has lots more options anyway.

FWIW to anyone reading this, .. ensure you haven't got static batching (Inspector -> Static tick box) on your gameobjects whilst using combinechildren on their parent gameobject. You'll definitely get this error if so.

Cheers, Jode

I just had the same problem. And I solved it on my end and I hope it helps you. On the import of your mesh make sure that Read/Write Enabled is checked on and hit apply. Then give it a shot!
