Question by Cyrille-Paulhiac · Oct 03, 2012 at 09:01 PM · iosxcodesnowlion

How to publish for iOS in snow leopard (10.6) ?

According to unity doc: Unity Requirements The minimum version of Mac OSX is 10.6 (snow leopard).

I have purchase the iOS extension of Unity, and the Developer program fee.

But, I'm stuck to the step of downloading IOS6 SDK.

AFAK, the only way to have it is from XCode4 in App Store... I can't have it, it requires 10.7 version of MacOS !

Did you think I missed something here ? Since IOS6 release does publishing restricted to Lion ?

Unity the editor is compatible with Snow Leopard. You can create Xcode projects using Unity on Snow Leopard. What you are referring to is possibly an Apple restriction on Xcode and iOS 6.0 SDK.

I think you're right, but that means poor folks like me that just have an old $$anonymous$$AC stuck to 10.6 are unable to get iOS6 sdk.

I'm not arguing against Unity, it works lovely on my $$anonymous$$AC. But I'm looking for a workaround to publish to AppStore.

I fear that buying a new $$anonymous$$AC is the only solution... I started this thread because I'm convinced that I will not be alone in this case.

Just having the confirmation from Apple iOS developer forums that snow Leopard can NOT target iOS6

Can you not upgrade your OS on the $$anonymous$$ac? Snow Leopard to Lion should be pretty easy to do. I went from SL to Lion, installed Xcode 4.5.1 and got an app running on my iPhone5 with Unity 3.5.6. It just worked without me having to think much about any of the steps. (Well, tttt, I still have Xcode 3.2.6, and haven't figured out how to get Unity to launch 4.5.1 ins$$anonymous$$d of 3.2.6.)
