No Mesh Rendering for Trees
I guess that isn't a question.
I've imported Collada tree files but when I try adding them to the tree option I get an error that indicates there is no mesh rendering for the tree. If I add my tree directly to the terrain it populates without a problem and indicates that there is mesh rendering.
What am I doing wrong? (Ah, there's the question)
I hope I'm not missing something obvious (I probably am).
Thanks in advance!

The documentation for trees:
http://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/Components/terrain-Trees.html
has a section that describes the requirements for user-created trees to be rendered in the terrain engine.
I read that and tried it, but it doesn't seem to be working. I assume the folder goes in the Asset folder. I'm pretty sure I'm spelling it correctly. I'm still stumped.
Thanks for the reply. I'm sure I'm still missing something obvious.
