Question by Krym0r · Jan 08, 2014 at 12:01 AM · exportprostudentwatermark

Can I build a game on a Student Pro Licence, then export from a Full Pro Licence machine?

Hi,

I'm currently studying on a Computer and Games Design BSc and the machines in Uni have Full Pro Licences.

I need to be able to use the Pro features on my own machine. So I'm considering the Pro Student Version.

My only question is:

Can I export my project and work and publish it without a watermark on the Uni machines? Or does the Watermark stay with the project regardless of the machine its being exported on?

Thanks

Adam :D

If you import the project into Unity Pro then the project is converted to a Pro version and all the features of Pro become available with no limitation. However, you cannot export a Pro project out to Free, but I'm unsure of how this works with Student Pro.

This is against the licensing agreement. I don't wanna look up the exact section now, but it's the same that doesn't allow you in a big $$anonymous$$m to only use one pro version and have free version for the rest of the $$anonymous$$m members.

Sorry, but even if you could it would be against the licensing agreement set by Unity for the Non-Commercial Student license. It's a similar question as to whether you can build a game on a Free version and then use someone else's Pro version to build the game; which you cannot. They sell a Student Commercial License for this exact purpose.
