Flash publishing - read string from external data file

I made a simple molecule viewer reading in .pdb files. It works nicely in unity, but uses the WWW class to read in the .pdb files. How to replace reading through WWW class for flash? I need to read the files just as a string, they'd be placed in the same location as the .swf file. Pdb format is very very simple human readable format...
