Question by Mazdarossa · Jul 21, 2015 at 08:29 AM · windowsmovingtabs

Has anyone else had Unity freeze when trying to change the layout, moving a tab or resizing a window?

I have installed both 4.6.3 and 5 and they both freeze everytime i try to adjust a tab or window.

My laptop is MSI GE62.

Thanks for your help.

Same issue here, did you manage to get around it? Interestingly my laptop is $$anonymous$$SI, so it could be a piece of $$anonymous$$SI software causing this.

I am having the same issue, without any luck. I am also using a new $$anonymous$$SI laptop. I've tried uninstalling a few $$anonymous$$SI applications, and no luck so far.

I wanted to try the suggestions about selecting Run in Background in the build settings of Unity, but any change in the windows causes the crash, even opening the Build Settings menu.

Adjusting the Windows performance settings (for animating window resizing, etc) has no effect. Neither does starting a new project, upgrading graphics drivers, or upgrading to Windows 10.

I will post here if I find a solution.

Amazingly, I was able to resolve this issue-- I hope that this works for you as well.

The problem is an audio software called Nahimic-- it comes pre-installed on MSI laptops. Exiting this problem caused the issue to resolve, and opening the program again caused the issue to start again, so I am sure that this is the solution for me.

I hope this helps. Good luck.
