Character attract from magnet object

Hey guys. Iam trying to archive the following thing:

i have a magnet in my game and when i went with my character close enough to this magnet he should be some kind of sucked in to this magnet.

I found a pretty good magnet script but it stops working when i use it with the "third person controller".

As you see, the green sphere get attract to the magnet when you move the magnet to the sphere but the blue one which is movig around with WASD is not responding to the gravity of the magnet.

would be awesome if someone could help me out with that :)
