How to Make A GUI Keypad Login With Texture Buttons
I'm looking for a tutorial on how to make a series (Grid) of Texture GUI buttons that when pressed correctly will allow the user to advance to the next scene. This is for 2D interface Java preferably.
Common Someone $$anonymous$$UST know of or have a tutorial somewhere on how to do this!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuX2T5vS$$anonymous$$Oo&src_vid=uUIXFL2ic7k ?
there are several more videos suggested there, as well.
Well that had nothing at all to do with what I needed.

Here you should find a good bunch of samples for the new UI and also the keypad you're loking for: https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/25468
edit: I attached a sample scene that do what you ask: link text
That looked interesting but seems to just show how to do a layout of button.... I already have a layout of buttons complete with mousedown FX and sound.... what I need is a way to code them to unlock the next screen. Why is this so hard to get across??!!
I would have thought this would be a popular game mechanic that would be available anywhere. I have not been able to find ANY information of how to do this. Doesn't anyone have a tutorial somewhere on how to make a simple key code using GUI buttons that can be set and when the correct GUI buttons are pressed in sequence the next level or scene specified will be unlocked or accessible.???
dear zentaiguy, if anybody doesn't respond to your insistent request, you should suspect it is for a reason, that is because it is harder (and longer) to explain it than to implement. But, since today here is holiday I made and attached a little sample for you - just giving a quick look you should be able to set your scene pretty quick. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks f4bo, yeah I know... I just get so impatient with trying to find answers to stuff I figure should be "old hat" to a lot of the experienced game developers. I kill so much time researching when I would rather be creating.... lol I guess that is a common thing. ;)
Thanks for sending me some stuff to check out. I did download that assets package from the assets store but it didn't really help me much as it uses the new UI system which I'm still having difficulties understanding when most of my GUI stuff tends to be PNG files that I made in Photoshop as backgrounds and buttons, I can't seem to wrap my head around the new animation state machine either. ;)
