You may want to ask for something more specific regarding character models, or if you are looking for general assistance getting started, try the forum: http://forum.unity3d.com/index.php

$$anonymous$$eep in $$anonymous$$d Unity is not a modeling program, so if you want to model you need to use Blender, or $$anonymous$$aya or something long those lines, then import it into Unity. If that was what you were asking.

Oh, and welcome!

A lot of development is going to involve scripting, and there are some useful resources in the forums like Novo said, and also some people posted a few here: http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/43334/how-do-you-write-scripts That I intend to take a look at myself :D

http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/4897/how-can-i-start-learning-unity-fast-list-of-tutorials That seems to be the homerun of how-to on here.

If you mean, how to make/edit character models, im afraid you can't do that. You need to use a modeling program, like Maya, and import the models to Unity.
