Cannot see scene/game in editor after loading a project

Question

Hi,

I've downloaded the CharacterAnimation sample project and also the 2DPlatForm sample project. When I open either one all I see in Unity is a small camera in the scene tab and a blue background in the game tab. How do I get unity do display for example the first scene? (I can build and run the sample projects).

Double click one of the scene files in the project - they're the ones with the unity logo as an icon, and an extension of .unity3d if you're looking for them outside of unity
