Path drawing, auto correction
I'd like to know if anybody here knows of a technique or method that I should be following to draw a path, on touch input, and have it auto correct itself if it is within a certain error margin.
Say, for example I have a road, which has a 90 degree turn, and the path drawn semi matches the actual path, how would I dynamically check for this and correct it if needed.
I'd like to have smooth and sharp paths based on the actual path. To be noted, I have no reference path to compare with, what I have is a road, which identifies itself as "road".
This question is pretty soft without specifics. It is better asked on Unity Forums, but even there, I'd include more specifics. You'll need to define what you mean by:
I have is a road, which identifies itself as "road".
Is the road a mesh or something else? Can you define a center line as a series of points? What happens if the user backtracks...would they still be considered on the path? Etc.
