Force Field Texture/Shader?

Hi guys, I am trying to build a space-terrain area and I'm building a building that is supposed to be air tight but I want it to have some kind of force field thing to show where the wall is. How can I go about making some kind of texture to add to something that players or objects can pass through? If I wanted to add a logo or something for a faction, how could I add that to the texture? Please help, I'm reaaaalllyy looking forward to building this. I have taken a look around on the internet, but nothing I've found seems to work with what I want.

-Thanks, Whutchison

Seems this is quite an old question, but I'll answer it anyways.

Look around on google for force field textures. Some are free, some are not.

If you would like to make your own, and you don't want to spend a bunch of money on PhotoShop or tools of the like, I would recommend looking at Gimp, or the "GNU Image Manipulation Tool", available here: Gimp

As for adding a logo into the wall, that can be done through Gimp as well. Simply open the force field texture, open your team logo as another layer, make the logo transparent to an acceptable level, and then merge it into your force field at an appropriate location. You can find Gimp tutorials on this all over youtube.

I hope that answers your question.
