Random Modular Hex Board for board game
Hello, I've some MEL (Maya Embedded Language) skills and put them to work writing a piece of code that takes each of the 62 objects, in this case hex tiles, and each of the 62 locators, locations for layout, and then randomly selects a tile and places it at locator 01, then removes itself and that locator from the list array and then re-runs itself until each tile and locator has been selected for placement. They all appear face down, and when a player moves to the location to discover it, it turns face up and then turns the color of the player who found it.
How do i even begin to attack this kind of setup in Unity? I've already made 3 sets of Tiles: Undiscovered/Neutral, Player 1, and Player 2. Did I even need to do this? or can 1 tile function as all three by switching textures and tags? Should I build the board before the game starts? or have all of the tiles face down and as they are discovered choose which tile type it is?
I apologize for the incredibly complicated beginner question, But i appreciate any and all help. TheBlueMuzzy
not sure I understand the true question here? is it about how to make random in Unity or how to initialize objects? or something else?

hmm. i suppose what i'm asking is, how do i setup a board that has specific locations for tiles where each tile is randomly chosen from a predefined number of tiles?
