retina macbook
My various Unity Mac 'standalone' projects work great on all sorts of monitors. But on my new MacBook Pro (with retina display 2880 wide) I've found a strange behavior.
When I build with Player Settings...Mac FullscreenMode = FullScreenWindow (or with WithMenuBar) ....the max resolution offered is 1440x900. That makes sense based on what I've read about retina, but I can tell the resolution looks lower than it would at higher resolutions. Ok.
When I build with Player Settings...Mac FullscreenMod = CaptureDisplay ...I'm allowed to choose up to 2880x1800 but I see a very zoomed in view of the game.
Also, this problem only happens if Unity3D is closed. The problem does not happen if Unity3D itself happens to be open at the same time.
---I understand that this anomaly stems from how retina treats 2880x1800 like 1400x900. But I need to prevent this from happening. Perhaps I'll check for the monitor's dpi and change the resolution in code, but first, I want to see if anyone else has seen this and can share their thoughts and impressions.
