Distance From & CrossHair

Im trying to edit this simple drag script but what I want is to make it so there has to be a range to start dragging a rigidbody. So if(dist < 8) sort of thing.

Right now in order to make this script work you need to click on a rigid body, how do I change it to work when the cursor is on the rigidbody you can use the key X?

also when hoving over the rigid body if in range I want to change to crosshair to a hand and bring up a label saying press X if not holding the object.
