Turning a sphere collider into a character Motor
Hey, I'm pretty new to scripting and Unity so this question may seem a little unformed. In my game the player controls a character who is always falling, but I want it to bounce off objects in the environment, instantiating sound and particle effects on collision. I can only get the bounce or the collisions to work. The way I've been doing the controls is with the FPS input controller which creates a character motor and controller, with a sphere collider set to trigger and a rigidbody parented to that. I tried creating a physics material and rigidbody within the FPS input script to no effect. They both show up on gameplay but don't influence the bounce or collisions.
Is there any way to turn a turn a sphere collider into a character motor and keep the control and create a bounce effect at the same time? I've been trying to create a frankenstein monster script combining the character motor and fps walker which seems like more trouble than its worth.
Thanks in advance for the help!
