Physics controls with look ahead.
Hey guys, I currently have a character who jumps along uneven land and I need him to correct his orientation when he lands. I have that working but in an attempt make his correction smoother I wanted to look ahead of the physics to see the normal of his landing platform. To do this I made a separate collision box and rigid body and apply twice the forces and twice the physics on that. It works probably 75% of the time but sometimes lands in a completely different area than the character. I haven't tried use a character controller yet but I was wondering if you guys had any ideas I should try.
Changed everything to use character controller ins$$anonymous$$d. It's a lot less buggy and I now I can make passes in my update to see where my future position will be. Works pretty well so far.
