Importing Heightmaps
I'm trying to import a height map but whenever I do, this happens;
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Yeah, you're not telling us what it's supported to look like. ;-) What format is the height-map in? It looks like alternate pixels in the height-map are messed up.
This is the height map I used. I changed it to RAW in photoshop and then used it. When I import it I leave the Depth on 16bit, change the width and height to 513, and Byte order to Windows.
I'm not a photoshop expert. I'd expect a 16-bit height map to be 2x513x513 bytes, or around 526k. Is that the size of the file you get? Bear in $$anonymous$$d if you are using a jpg as a source artwork it'll have a lot of compression artifacts. Did you export from PS with a single 16-bit channel?
Yes, I saved the image as a .raw file but I didn't see anything there about a 16-bit channel.

If you get jagged spikes when importing the raw file, switch whatever byte order it selects as default.
Switch your byte order from Windows to Mac.
