IOS Swipe Gesture

I'm creating an IOS/Android app that requires a swipe gesture to move. When you swipe left, the character moves left, swipe forward he moves forward and so on. It's a 2D app so it only has 2 axi but every other script I find is no help. does anybody have a script for this?
