Free Game Assets for Prototyping?
Does anyone have a set of links of free assets for prototyping a game that can easily be imported into unity. Basically general assets for a full 3d game like at least 1 character with a decent amount of animations. Some Buildings, weapons, foliage, ect... As many free assets for unity as possible solely for the purpose of prototyping a full game then later on hiring artists after its done?
Have you checked the asset store? There are some free stuff there. For building, since it is a prototype, simple cubes should do.
Yeah I saw some free ones but the hardest to find is a character with a decent set of animations. Wondering if theres a pack someone has collected of free assets that has a lot of stuff like rocks trees, textures, characters, buildings, weapons

Check out TurboSquid, they always have a variety of free assets in several categories. Also check out the Asset Store.
Google 3D Warehouse seems to have a lot of free stuff as well, although most would need to be converted to a format Unity can use.
The only decent character model I found on turbo squid free that had animations was a zombie model and it had zombie specific animations.
You should have a look at the Unity tutorials. Lerpz has a basic walk/run/idle animation. You could use it for other characters as base.
