Question is off-topic or not relevant
absolute beginner Multiplayer
I've searched everywhere (and am currently watching video number 10 trying to figure this out) but somehow I'm still unable to figure this out.
What I want to do:
I currently have a game that is split screen where the players interact with the environment. It is very simple where the buildings around change colors when shot. I want to make this game playable on a LAN instead of split screen (so the players can't see each other's screens).
Pretty much how do I go about doing this? I have two SEPARATE players with two SEPARATE spawn points and I'd like to keep it that way. i know it's asking a lot but there really isn't much of a reference point online for this.
That is way too complicated for what I'm doing at the moment sadly, and I guess I don't quite understand RPC.
Here's a (hopefully) simpler question. I want to use my computer as the main server. All I want is to use a separate screen for player two, so I want to broadcast the gameplay on a different screen possibly through networking. I want the connecting computer to send inputs and receive the P2 camera. Does that make sense?
PS. I'm new to this site and don't see an answer tick anywhere :(
I urge you to read all the BASIC DOCO on multiplayer in Unity. Beyond that, go to the FORU$$anonymous$$.unity3d.com site.
this site is for very specific technical questions.
for a total beginner intro to multiuser program$$anonymous$$g, read the total beginner multiuser program$$anonymous$$g doco on the unity3d web site, or download the many tutorials etc.
Be aware that multiplayer program$$anonymous$$g ia incredibly difficult. If you find the post above difficult you have a long way to go.
What you describe is extremely difficult. If it seems easy to you, it's not. Good luck on the forum site! Be sure to SEARCH on beginner tutorial networking UNity
