Modular building system
I just built a semi-modular version of my house, with cubes as rectangles at size 10, size 5, and doors at 2.5 (in green). The player is in red. There are horizontal and vertical versions of the walls and doors, and are all saved in prefab. Is there any better way to go about this in the future? Also, I've left windows empty.
It took me an hour to build, I'm looking for a better way to do level design.
Unity Editor's built-in primitives are mostly there for prototyping, they are not meant for creating finished worlds. Use a 3d modeling application to create models of walls etc. that you need and use those as your building elements.
Ok, thanks. So blender can make something like this easier? Also good for multiple floors?

Take a look at this article which explains the modular system of Bethesda's games like Fallout 3 and TES V: Skyrim:
Skyrim's $$anonymous$$odular Approach to Level Design
Creating multiple floors is just a matter of adding floors and ceilings.
