Unity Pro vs Android/iOS Pro

Hi, I am about to buy the Unity Pro license but our goal is to develope mobile games. If I buy the Unity Pro version and can access all the features within; what would the difference be if I include the Android/iOS Pro?

I was comparing licenses and the features added in Android/iOS Pro was already included in the Unity Pro license and I noticed that you need the Unity Pro to buy the Android/iOS Pro. What exactly is the difference between the Unity Pro and the Android/iOS Pro?

Really sorry if I'm unclear, I'm just a bit confused which gives me problem to express myself.

Thanks in advance.

Unity Pro is an editor that allows you to make games for web player and standalone (PC, Mac, Linux). The Android Pro and iOS Pro add-ons allow you to target Android and iOS. If you want to target mobile, you'll want Unity Pro with iOS Pro and Android Pro.

Yes. You won't lose the ability to publish on Android, you just can't use any pro features on that platform.

@$$anonymous$$iloblargh I'd like to hear that from an official source...

So just for clarity... @kiloblargh: to launch a true production level app you need 3 licenses - Unity Pro, iOS Pro, and Android Pro??!! Is that accurate?

@N0kturnal - For true clarity, I'd avoid terms like "production level app".... if you want to create an app that uses Pro-only features (i.e. remove the "$$anonymous$$ade with Unity" splash screen) and build that app for both Android and iOS devices then, yes, you need Unity Pro, iOS Pro and Android Pro.

So I am still confused too - is that all android pro and IOS pro does is remove the Unity Splash screen?

Or does it put the special effects that were available to Unity Pro into the IOS and Android APPS. Like Unity water for pro.

It looks like the Vuforia Plug-in will not work on Android or IOS as it is a Pro feature too.

So I guess any pro feature add ons will not distribute onto the Iphone or Android Phones without the additional Pro Licenses.

Is that correct?

Please don't post comments as answers. Now I have to answer your answer, as a comment...

Yes - if you want to target iOS or Android and your game requires a Pro licence for any reason, you need Unity Pro and the relevant iOS/Android Pro add-on.

Disable the splash screen? Need Android Pro. Want to use Pro analytics? Need Android Pro. Your company revenue exceeds $100,000? Need Android Pro.
