Using cylinder colliders as wheels.
I have read in places that using wheel colliders is very complicated without using premade scripts so I was wondering if I use cylinder colliders on my wheel meshes that have physics materials with different friction values to sumulate different tires and then give them scripts to turn both around for foward momentum and left to right for steering and then a simple script that tells them how far they can move along the up axis in comparison to the body to simulate suspension. Would this work.

the main difference between wheel collider and any other that wheel collider has different settings for forward and sideways frictions, like a normal wheel. you should calculate these manually for your collider
also, there's no cylinder collider in unity. you need mesh collider for it that is strongly not recommended due to performance issue
Really. I Thought there was cylinder colliders. Capsule colliders then
