Commercial Details Help?

Hello, I've seen other questions like this asking about the use of commercially selling games that you make in Unity. I am just starting out on making a game that I will be looking to sell, and I would like to know a few things before I get really far into making my game and then figuring out that the game that the policies were different then I thought that they were. I am looking to sell my game on Steam. I realize that steam has royalties that you have to pay for the money that your game makes, but that's not my question. So, on other posts it says that with the free version of Unity you are allowed to sell your games and make money off of them, but if you make more than $100,000US then you must buy unity pro. I find this hard to believe. So my question is: Are you completely allowed to sell your game and make money off of it, on any PC/Mac Platform/OS Such as Steam? Without buying a license? Or paying royalties? Also, I would like to ask if your game does end up making over $100,000, do you have to pay any additional fees/royalties besides buying the Pro version? Just a question from a very confused person, thanks!

Yes, you can sell with the free license and not pay anything. But not on Steam, which requires a native code plugin to work with Unity, so that requires Pro. However you can submit the game made with the free license, and if you're lucky enough that they decide to accept it (Steam isn't something you can just decide to publish with, it's fairly restrictive), then you could buy Pro. In any case there aren't any royalties paid to Unity Technologies ever.
