Transparent background for a texture.
I'm trying to create a texture for a wall that will be a picture with transparent background. I've tried doing it with photoshop CS6 by erasing the background of my picture but it's still not transparent in the unity editor and game.
the background became white and solid.
any suggestions? such thing is possible?
Did you use .png extention ? If the image is JPEG it's normal, it does not handle transparency

If the original file has transparency, you will need a shader that supports transparency too. In the inspector for the gameobject that you want to make transparent, you'll see shader above the thumbnail of its image. Choose any transparent shader; Transparent/Diffuse is probably the best for this situation.

Another option is Mobile/Particles/Alpha Blended if you are deploying to mobile platform.
