3d object button with a pop up window

can anyone help me I'm creating a game and i need help. i want to be able to click on a 3D object (box, plane stuff like that) and a windows GUI (texture jpg) will pop up and with a x for a close button. could do with help to make this happen pls

What have you got to work so far? There is more than one question here, and no specific problem with code you have written. Try the forums for general help, or break down the question into steps and attack one at a time =]

1/ What 3D object am I clicking on?

2/ How to show a GUI window, with text and/or image?

3/ Detect GUI window has been closed

To start you off, how about learning raycasting and getting information from that raycast to detect different objects. Read the Script References for some examples :
