Blob Shadow and Trees Using Terrain Cause Issues
I need to project a transparent texture onto the terain, done! But here's my problem. When I project the texture onto the terrain any tree placed with the terrain have red and blue transparent branches, actual copies of any branch using the tree creator bark material. This also includes the tree trunk, except it renders black. If I look closely I can see the projected texture on the branches and trunk. The tree leaves are not affected.
I don't usually use the H or help word, but I am officially stumped. I fixed all problems except the one above. I have rewritten shaders and researched for countess hours and cannot fix this problem. I have rewritten the tree creator bark shader to ignore projectors and the projected texture is still affecting the trees, I have no idea why.
I have tried the ignoring layer but since the trees are created with the terrain they all have to same layer that I want to project the texture on. This problem is driving me crazy! I have read of others trying similar things and they never got an answer. Can we try and solve this as a community? I'm sure it will help a lot of people.
Is there another way to project a texture onto the terrain? Maybe render to texture? Is there anyway to get the terrains collisions so the projector can project on that? This would allow me to tag my actual terrain so the projector doesn't project on it, thus not on the trees. I need an exact copy of my terrain collision wise but not the mesh. Does that make sense? I have pro so I don't care how it's done if there's another option, I just need to get this working as times a factor. I will make sure to give answered to whoever can fix this bothersome problem.
Another way, is there a way I can just put a material over the entire terrain?
