Unity crashing when lightmapping imported objects
Hi, all. I'm pretty new to Unity, so hopefully this issue is just me making a simple mistake.
I'm having some trouble with lightmapping some .fbx objects I modeled in blender. I've noticed a pattern every time the crash happens:
The models have parent/child parts
The models have missing faces. (I removed them because they'd never be seen anyway, and I wanted to keep poly count low)
To do the lightmapping I've just been checking the Lightmap Static box on an object's Mesh Renderer. A dialogue will ask if I want to map just the parent object or the whole parent/children setup, and then unity crashes regardless of which I choose.
I'm thinking I'm either just doing the lightmap incorrectly, or else Unity is mad about the missing faces on the objects. If anyone has insight and would like to help, I would greatly appreciate the advice! (Assume I know nothing :) )
Thanks!
