Character Controller Component Makes the Player Pass through Hills, Rocks, Trees, etc!

Unfortunately, I searched a couple of hours and couldn't find anything useful on the web for my issue. I already know about rigidbody but the thing I can't figure out is when I add a character controller to my player (instead of a rigidbody), then my player touches nothing and passes through every and any object I have on my terrain unless I add a rigidbody to those pieces of stuff which doesn't seem to be a wise solution because then those objects start to fall through terrain. Btw, my terrain has a terrain collider, the objects (trees, rocks, etc) have mesh colliders and none is set to teriggered as well.
So how am I supposed to fix this problem? Any help would be appreciated.
